You'll complete all of the items that go into the workshop and then will put all the items together. This tutorial is for the pencils and container.
My canvas with the container alpha selection. You may download it here.
Step 1. Open up the canvas with the alpha selection you downloaded. Step 2. Add a new layer. Load selection 1 from alpha channel (go to Selections>Load/Save Selection>Load Selection from Alpha Channel. Then hit "load."
![]() Flood fill with color #952a2d. Float the selection (hit "Ctrl+F" on your keyboard. Apply a cutout (effects>3d effects>cutout), using settings in the screenshot.
![]() ![]() Step 3. Add a new layer. Choose your pen tool>draw lines and polylines, using settings in the screenshot.
![]() Set foreground to color #e9dfa5. Draw some lines on your container, similar to mine.
![]() Step 4. Now you need to make the pencils. I used the same pencil as I made in my heart clipboard tutorial. Just go here and go down to Steps 11-16 and make a pencil. Just change the colors to whatever you'd like your pencils to be. Once you merge the layers, save your pencil as a PSP file (that way you can reuse it later - you'll need it for your Santa). Also, if you want to make several colors, you can use this master psp brush as the image to start with each time. Step 5. Make as many variations of your pencils as you want (you can either make them individually using different colors, or you can make one brush and then use PSP's Adjust>hue and saturation>hue/saturation/lightness, to get different color effects. Now copy your pencils and paste them as new layers onto your canvas. Move the layers underneath your container and resize as necessary. Step 6. When you're satisfied with your image, delete the background layer. Merge visible layers. Save as a PSP file. What to do next: Return to the Santa's Workshop Series tutorials. Work your way through them, and when finished go to the Assembly tutorial. Enjoy the tuts! |
