Pracken's Paint Shop Pro Tutorials

Miss October Witch

witchfront

I'm continuing my Halloween tutorials. This one's a calendar worthy witchie babe. This tutorial will show you how to make the witch - but I've also made a calendar with her on it (after all, she IS Miss October Witch lol). If you would like to make the calendar, you'll find that tutorial here.

For this tutorial, you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro. I used version 7.04 but if you are familiar with PSP, you should be able to convert the tutorial without problems. You can download the latest PSP version demo here.

My selection files. Place these in a location of your choice (note: if you are having trouble opening selectons, place them inside your selections folder in PSP and that should solve the problem). You may download them here.

[Note: The selections are numbered in order, but the sequence skips in a couple of places due to my numbering errors - just didn't want you to worry that you were missing any selections].

My color chart. Right click on this and save it to your computer.

Step 1. Open a new image 250 x 400, white background. Copy your color chart and paste it as a new layer onto your canvas. Move it to the top out of the way. When you need a color, just click on it with your eye dropper tool.

Step 2. Add a new layer. Load selection 1 (go to selections>load from disk - then navigate to the location where you placed the selection files. Flood fill with black.

Apply an inner bevel (effects>3d effects>inner bevel), using the settings in the screenshot.
