All of the other items in the living room can be found on the main dollhouse tutorial page, which you will find here. If you haven't already done so, please go there and orient yourself to the dollhouse tutorials, and important information you'll need to complete the series.
Once you complete the living room, and all the other rooms, you'll assemble them all into the completed dollhouse.
Paint Shop Pro. I used version 9, and have made comments as appropriate for PSP 7 users. I didn't test it in PSP8, but you shoud be able to complete the tutorial in that version as well. You may download the latest PSP version demo here.
My rug (or one of your own). You may download mine here.
Anything else you would like to add to your living room. I've added a couple of items to my coffee table - a geranium and a dala horse. If you want to make those items, you'll find the tutorials for them here and here.
Step 1. Open up your living room interior canvas. It should be in psp format, with all layers intact. Save a copy of the canvas and close the original (you can use the original in the future if you ever want to change the colors of your room).
If you want to change anything about the interior of your room, now's the time to do that. If you like what you have, turn the "housefront" layer off. Merge visible layers (layers>merge>merge visible). Turn your housefront layer back on.
Step 2. Open up the "dhlivingrug" file you downloaded, or, if you wish, you can use your own rug. Resize it as you need to. Use the deformation tool to shape the rug's perspective (move the back in a bit and the front out).
Step 3. Now you're just going to need to open up the psp files you've made from the bedroom tutorials. Everything you add will go underneath the "housefront" layer. Open up an item and copy it (edit>copy), then close the item. Return to your bedroom interior canvas. Edit>paste as a new layer. Move the item into place where you would like it (resize and sharpen as necessary).
Repeat this process for each of your tutorial items, and for anything else that you would like to add to your bedroom.
You'll need to use your deformation tool to shape the frame on the wall next to the stairs too.
Step 4. Once you have everything in place, save a copy of this as a master psp file, with all layers intact. That way, you will be able to change things around later if you need to do so.
When you are satisfied with your living room, delete the housefront and background layers. Merge all layers and save as a PSP file.
When you finish all the rooms and the dollhouse, all you'll need to do is paste this image into the house.
Go on to the next room tutorial. Click here to find the tutorials index, and scroll down to the next room in the series.
When you finish all the rooms in the series (there are 6 of them), you will go to the dollhouse tutorial here to put all the rooms together.
I know there are a LOT of tutorials in this series, so have patience, work at your own pace, and have fun while doing so. And if you encounter any problems, please let me know.
