Dollhouse Series
Bathroom: Towel Cabinet and Towels

Welcome to my dollhouse series tutorials! This is the bathroom section of tutorials.

This tutorial will show you how to make the towel cabinet and towels (it's there behind the cabinet). All of the other items in the bathroom can be found on the main dollhouse tutorial page, which you will find here. If you haven't already done so, please go there and orient yourself to the dollhouse tutorials, and for important information you'll need to complete the series.

Once you complete the bathroom, and all the other rooms, you'll assemble them all into the completed dollhouse.

Please read my Terms of Use before completing these tutorials.

This tutorial was written for Paint Shop Pro versions 9 and 7.04

For this tutorial, you will need the following:

Paint Shop Pro. I used version 9, and have made comments as appropriate for PSP 7 users. I didn't test it in PSP8, but you shoud be able to complete the tutorial in that version as well. You may download the latest PSP version demo here.

My seamless fills. You may download them here.

Step 1. Open up a new image 200 x 200, white background.

Step 2. Set your foreground to color #5c7b74, background null. Choose your preset shapes tool>rectangle, using the settings in the screenshot.

Draw a rectangle approximately 50 x 125 (watch the numbers at the bottom of your screen.

Step 3. Add a new layer. Choose your pen tool, using settings in the screenshot. Draw some lines for your shelves.

Step 4. Add a new layer. Change your width to 1 and draw another line at the top of your cabinet. Right click>apply. Then draw some lines for deco, similar to mine. When done, right click>apply.

Step 5. Now you just need to add your towels. If you've been following this tutorial series in order, you will have already made a preset shape when doing the bedroom (it's the blanket). If you haven't done that tutorial yet, you'll need to do it now so you'll have a shape to use for your towels. You'll find it here.

You can use whatever textures you like for your towels. I've included the ones I've used. To make the green ones, set your foreground color to #5c7b74, and your background to the "towel1" texture you downloaded (angle 0, scale 100).

Choose your preset shapes tool and navigate to the preset shape you made. Use settings in the screenshot.

Draw a towel. Just continue this process until you have as many as you want (to draw washcloths and hand towels, just draw the shape smaller).

For the pink towel, use color #ddb3b3 for foreground, and the "towel2" fill - angle 0, scale 100.

Step 6. When done, delete the color chart and background layers. Merge visible layers. Save as a PSP file.

What to do next

Now continue on through the bathroom tutorials, in order (go here to find the tutorials index, and scroll down to the bathroom section to find the others). Once you have all of the items in the bathroom section complete, then go here to assemble it.

Have fun!
