Country Cupboard Series: Sitting Chicken

This is my country cupboard series. You'll find all of the items you need for the cupboard
here. As I find time, I'll be adding more items to my country cupboard series.
This tutorial is for the chick (it's there on the top).

For this tutorial, you will need the following:
Paint Shop Pro. I used version 7.04 but if you are familiar with PSP, you should be able to convert the tutorial without problems. You can download the latest PSP version demo here.
My seamless fill pattern.
My selection files. Place these in your PSP selections folder (or any location of your choice - I always place mine outside of PSP).
You may download all of my materials
here.
My color chart. Right click on it and save to your computer.

Step 1.Open a new image 200 x 400, white background.
Step 2. Add a new layer. Load selection 1 (go to selections>load from disk - then navigate to the location where you placed the selection files). Flood fill with the pattern you downloaded (set the scale to 20% and the angle to 30).
Step 3. Apply an inner bevel (go to effects>3d effects>inner bevel). Use the settings in the screenshot.
Step 4. Duplicate this layer. Mirror it.
Step 5. Add a new layer. Load selection 2. Flood fill with color #1. Apply an inner bevel as before. Duplicate this layer and mirror it.
Step 6. Add a new layer. Load selection 3. from disk. Flood fill with color #1. Apply inner bevel as before. Duplicate this layer. Mirror it.
Step 7. Add a new layer. Load selection 4. Flood fill with your pattern (change the scale to 10% and the angle to 0).
Apply inner bevel as before. Keep selected.
Contract the selection by 20 (go to selections>modify>contract). Flood fill with your pattern again, but change the scale to 20%). Apply an inner bevel, same as before. Keep selected.
Contract by 20 again. Flood fill with the pattern again, but change the scale back to 10%. Apply inner bevel as before.
Step 8. Add a new layer. Load selection 5. Flood fill with color #1. Apply inner bevel.
Step 9. Add a new layer. Load selection 6. Flood fill with color #2. Apply inner bevel. Duplicate this layer. Mirror it.
Step 10. Add a new layer. Load selection 7. Flood fill with color #2. Apply inner bevel.
Step 11. Add a new layer. Load selection 8. Flood fill with color #3. Apply inner bevel.
Step 12. Add a new layer. Set your foreground and background colors to black. Choose your preset shapes tool, ellipse. Draw a small circle for the eye. Duplicate and place on other side of face.
Step 13. Add a new layer. Place this layer right underneath the body layer. Set your foreground color to #4 and your background color to null. Choose your draw tool, freehand line, size 2, antialias checked. Draw some bits of straw wherever you would like them.
When you're satisfied with your creation, save as a master psp file with all layers intact - that way you can go back and change the look of your chicken later if you wish. Then delete your color chart, hide your background, and merge visible layers. And that's it, all done!
